Case Studies

A European conglomerate retained Northeast Group to advise on its market entry strategy for the United States smart cities market. The analysis completed included quantitative market sizing, competitor analysis, potential acquisition targets, and recommendations on geographies to focus on.

A large US-based infrastructure vendor sought out Northeast Group’s expertise in sizing a number of markets in the EMEA region. The analysis included an overview of opportunities in the electricity, water and gas sectors, quantitative market sizes and competitor analyses.

Northeast Group conducted a number of workshops with different city governments across the US, in partnership with CityLab, for an international conglomerate. The purpose was to assess and benchmark cities’ capacity to leverage data for decision-making and carrying out policy.

In the Central America and Caribbean region, Northeast Group developed feasibility studies for smart street lighting and smart metering projects. The work was completed for a US government agency and resulted in projects that are now in full deployment.

A European conglomerate wanted to benchmark a number of cities across the world to determine how “green” they were. The exercise involved gathering data and benchmarks on items such as building energy efficiency standards, percentage of renewable energy used, sustainable transportation, and other metrics for each city.
